| http://akiraferrari.wordpress.com/I suppose I should keep this LJ for personal related stuff or memes, but other than that, everything else interesting and not-so interesting goes there. I'm sure the current design is pretty bad, so I'll probably change the looks around for a bit. | |

| So, last night, I got my Bachelors degree for Information Technology.
It wasn't too eventful, and was pretty much a bore for the first hour or so (the graduates for the Business Studies and Economics came in before us) - but it was still great to finally get that degree, after not doing so hot back in Egypt.
So, what's next for me? Probably a raise @ work for starters, since the boss promised my old man that I'd get one after obtaining the degree. After that, it's probably going out after having enough funds - maybe to some other country, continuing to study in the IT field or maybe even following one of my aspirations?
We'll see how it goes. | |

| So I managed to watch the Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo (The Girl who Leapt Through Time) movie early this evening.
Does it deserve the praise that the JP media gave it? I'd say definetely yes.
Sure the subject of time travel has been talked before (much like other things) but how's it's executed is what makes or breaks it. And in terms of execution, this movie delivers well in all aspects.
You've got endearing characters - The main protagonist, Makoto, whom the movie mostly focuses on her and how she deals with the time leaping (and whom anyone in her place would do what she mostly did at the beginning) alongside her two friends Chiaki and Kouske whom tend to shape up the rest of the character development; very impressive visuals (both animated and in the CG time jumping sequences) and a rather excellent soundtrack (with extra emphasis on the piano). As for the plot, I'd say it's better to see it for yourself, but do expect a suprise to appear somewhere in the middle of the movie.
All in all, I highly reccomend this.

| Since a lot of people might not be familar with the characters from the Sengoku Basara series, here's what you might expect from some of the characters you'll see in Sengoku Basara X (Cross). ( Long entry + pictures await. ) | |

| 01. When and why did we first start talking? 02. What was your first impression of me? 03. Have I disappointed you a lot since then? 04. Have I ever made you happy by saying/doing something? 05. Is there anything you think I should do more often/better? 06. Is there anything you think I should do less often? 07. Do you think I'm: A bad person? A good person? A somewhere-in-between person? 08. Would there ever be the slightest chance of you and I developing a relationship? 09. If we're only online friends, do you think we'll ever meet? 10. Would you visit me if I was deathly ill, or at least take care of my pets/plants? 11. If I told you something odd about me, like a mental/physical handicap, would you think I was weird and stop talking to me? 12. If you could get me anything for Christmas, what would it be? 13. Will you repost this on your journal for me to fill out? | |

| Update via meme. Maybe some kind of actual post might come later. | |

| Been playing a lot of Phoenix Wright: Justice for All these days. An excelllent throwback to point and click games of yore on the PC, plus making a VERY boring occupation look intense and actually has gameplay, with a little weirdness and a bit of supernaturalism? Sounds like a winning combination to me.
Been also getting into the Touhou series w/ both Phantasmagoria of Flower View and The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil - both highly enjoyable, especially the former. I suppose because it really reminds me of Twinkle Star Sprites on the Neo-Geo, but a lot faster, flashier, a better soundtrack and "Dead Parrott" instead of "Lose". Oh, and the Touhou characters, of course.
Anime-wise I've only picked up Busou Renkin and Rozen Maiden. Hype of the latter = totally unecessary. While in itself it's not a bad show, I seriously don't see anything truly that makes it "OMG, THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVER!". But I suppose it's the case of different strokes for different folks. Renkin has a lot of generic moments, but it's characters are nice - especially Tokiko/Scar-tan.

| Jojo Part I is awesome. As is the Hokuto no Ken manga (at least the only 2 volumes I've read) and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
1 exam down and two more to go this week, then I'm gettin' a vacation.
Work has been a bit more demanding the past week or so.
And most of you know this, but I finally got the internet at home, so I feel more relaxed browsing online, downloading anime/manga or talking to people here instead of at work.
That's about it. | |
